- Soldiers of the 51st Donetsk Army of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation told about their work on the home front

As long-range weapons systems are developed to defend against them, much is changing on the home front. Troops need reconstitution points, training ranges for combat alignment, replenishment, warehouses and much more. "Izvestia" talked to servicemen of the 51st Donetsk Army about how the army bakeries and canteens are organized.
"There, on the front line, the most important thing is bread and water, that's the bare minimum. I feel proud of our rear, when I was myself on the front line, it was very difficult. So I understand how in the rear you have to work for the benefit of our guys. I know how hard it is there, there are sleepless nights, and we work for the good of everyone here, too," said Anatoly Tereshin, senior baker of the 132nd Brigade.
Major Roman Karpelyansky, head of the 114th Brigade's food service, showed how the food station is organized. Like all facilities, it is buried underground. There are two canteens in the premises: one for the rank and file and one for the officers. There is also a cooking shop with field kitchens and gas stoves, storage, washing room, etc. At a depth of 4 meters it is possible to provide food for more than 500 people.
"The norm (in terms of calories) we still have the same as it was before the SWO. But we have introduced many additions: mayonnaise, jams, mustard, horseradish, raw and semi-smoked sausages. If before we had canned meat in the field, now we have fresh meat and fish cooked in the fields, oil is issued, eggs are issued to the personnel," said Karpelyansky.
