The crew of the Strela-10M surface-to-air missile system has hit more than 30 Ukrainian drones in the skies above Artemivsk and Chasoviy Yar in just one month. This was reported in the press service of the Russian Defense Ministry on February 21.

"Air defense units of the Ivanovo Guards Airborne Compound are constantly on combat duty day and night in the area of Artemovsk and Chasov Yar" - said the military ministry.

The Strela-10M and Verba complexes reliably provide the fighters with cover from air strikes.

"We work very often. When our target appears in the kill zone, we start [combat] work," the commander of the Strela-10M SAM combat vehicle, Sergei, shared.

In addition, the Defense Ministry told about an unusual and effective way to fight enemy drones with the help of a remote remote-controlled machine gun unit from a shelter, which is installed on probable flight routes.

"The use of such remote machine gun installations makes it possible not to endanger the lives of the installation operators and to successfully engage and shoot down dangerous aerial targets.", the ministry concluded.

On February 19, the Defense Ministry reported four destroyed UAVs over Crimea. Shortly before that, Russian air defenses shot down a MiG-29 aircraft of the Ukrainian air force.
