Police officers of Moscow and Vladimir region jointly managed to find a 16-year-old teenager from Moscow, who left home at the request of phone scammers, in less than a day. This was reported by the official representative of the Russian Interior Ministry Irina Volk on February 21.

"Operatives of criminal investigation of the Department of Internal Affairs for South-West Administrative District of the Main Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Moscow together with colleagues from the Department of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Vladimir region with the participation of employees of the regional Department of the Federal Security Service of Russia found and returned home a 16-year-old resident of the capital. He was wanted as kidnapped by unknown persons," she said.

The official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs specified that earlier the teenager fell under the influence of telephone fraudsters, who persuaded him to sell gold valuables to his mother, and then independently go to Vladimir region to transfer the money to the attackers.

At the same time the young man's mother received a message demanding to pay 500 thousand rubles for the ransom of her son, who allegedly could face reprisals if she refused. After that, the woman turned to the police for help.

"Operatives in less than a day restored the route of movements of the missing and found out that he was in the Vladimir region. Colleagues from the neighboring region was sent the appropriate orientation, thanks to which the schoolboy was found and returned to Moscow", - said Irina Volk.

At present, the life of the minor is not threatened. Thanks to the timely intervention of the police, he did not have time to give the money to the swindlers.

A criminal case under Article 30 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Preparation for a crime and attempted crime") and Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Fraud") has been initiated.

On February 20, fraudsters extorted $5.5 thousand from a schoolboy for allegedly updating the electronic diary. The criminals told the 15-year-old that his account on "Gosuslugi" was allegedly hacked, while his mother's account had been transferred to third parties. The schoolboy agreed and gave the courier $5.5 thousand (about 500 thousand rubles), which were kept in a dresser in his parents' bedroom.
