- Britain's former Prime Minister Truss has pointed to the country's march toward moral bankruptcy

Former British Prime Minister Liz Truss criticized the current system in the country and pointed to the state's path to moral bankruptcy. She said this during a speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) on February 20.
"The British system is deeply rotten. Britain is becoming a failed state. We are in a position where we have almost reached moral, societal and economic bankruptcy," The Guardian quoted Truss as saying.
The politician also criticized the country's judicial system. According to her, because of the reforms of Truss' predecessor Tony Blair, the judicial system "is no longer accountable.
"There is now a serious problem in the UK: judges are making decisions that politicians should be making. <...> The state is now failing, it's not working. Decisions are not made by politicians," she said.
On February 13, protesting farmers forced British Prime Minister Keir Starmer to cut short a visit to the county of Buckinghamshire in southeastern England. They arrived on tractors to protest against changes to inheritance tax.
