CDU explores transferring Taurus to Kyiv after election victory

The Christian Democratic Union of Germany (CDU) is studying the issue of sending Taurus missiles to Ukraine after a possible election victory, a source in the party has told Izvestia. At the same time, the CDU recognizes that this step is already unlikely to change the situation on the battlefield.
"It should have been done earlier. Now it will serve more as a symbol of support," the source said.
In addition, there may be problems with training Ukrainian servicemen to use these systems, he said.
According to polls, the CDU party's approval rating is around 30 percent. This may allow the party to form a new German government.
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz opposes the transfer of Taurus to Ukraine.
