The U.S. Senate approved the nomination of Cash Patel, appointed by President Donald Trump to head the FBI. This was reported on February 20 by ABC News television channel.

For the appointment of the nominee voted 51 senators, against - 49.

It is noted that against Patel voted two senators of the Republican Party: Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski. Democrats unanimously voted against.
