The Russian government has decided to extend from March 1 to the end of August the restrictions on gasoline exports, which prohibit its supply to traders, but allow producers to supply fuel to foreign markets. The decision was made following a meeting of Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak's headquarters on the domestic market of petroleum products held on February 20.

"Novak supported the decision to impose a ban on gasoline exports for non-producing companies for the period from March 1 to August 31 this year in order to balance the market during the period of increased demand. Refineries and oil companies that own them will be allowed to export fuel," - stated in the Telegram-channel of the Cabinet.

In addition, instructions were given to the Ministry of Energy and the Ministry of Agriculture to agree on the terms and volumes of fuel supplies to the agricultural sector by March 1, taking into account the real needs of companies. The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) has been assigned the task of controlling fuel prices for agricultural producers in the regions of the Russian Federation.

Before that, on January 20, Igor Yushkov, a leading analyst of the National Energy Security Fund, an expert and lecturer at the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, noted in a conversation with Izvestia that China has long been one of the largest buyers of Russian energy carriers.
