A woman lost 1 million rubles because of fraudulent meter replacement in Khabarovsk

In Khabarovsk, the police have opened a criminal case on the fact of fraud, as a result of which a 77-year-old woman suffered. The pensioner lost 1 million roubles.

According to the victim, she received calls from strangers who introduced themselves as specialists from an energy sales organization. They convinced the woman that she needed to replace the electricity metering device, for this allegedly required registration in the electronic queue. According to AmurMedia IA, the pensioner agreed to dictate the code that came to her phone.

Then the victim began to receive calls from "employees of special services". They assured the woman that the swindlers had allegedly gained access to her accounts. The pensioner agreed to transfer her savings to a "safe" account.

A criminal case has been opened on the fact of fraud.
