Cars of the Russian car brand Tenet have been photographed for the first time

At the beginning of the second quarter of 2025 at the former Volkswagen plant in Kaluga it is planned to start serial production of cars of the new Russian brand Tenet. This was announced on February 20 by the press service of the company "AGR", which published the first shots of the brand's cars.

In parallel with the large-unit assembly, work will be carried out to prepare for the transition to full-cycle production, including welding and painting operations. The launch of small-unit assembly is scheduled for the third quarter of 2025.

The company said that on February 20, in the presence of the Governor of Kaluga Region Vladislav Shapsha, the chairmen of the Board of Directors of AGR Holding and Defetoo signed an agreement on technological partnership. The document provides for the organization of production of Tenet vehicles on a modular platform.

"This platform will be integrated with a deeply localized component base that meets the global standards of the automotive industry. This large and complex work will be organized in stages - from large-unit to small-unit assembly with a consistent increase in the level of localization," AGR said.

The agreement on technological partnership also provides for the creation of a single R&D center, as well as the development of a cluster of local suppliers.

Earlier, on February 17, it was reported that the first models of the new domestic brand Tenet will be crossovers based on Chery.
