Russian tennis player Daniil Medvedev decided to withdraw from the second set of the quarterfinal match at the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) tournament in the capital of Qatar, Doha. This was reported by the newspaper Sport-Express on February 20.

The Russian lost the first set to the 23rd racket of the world, Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime with the result 3:6, after which he reported that he would not continue the game due to health problems.

It is specified that in the semifinals Auger-Aliassime will play with Russian Andrey Rublev.

On February 17, it became known that Medvedev became the sixth racket of the world. The updated ranking was published by ATP. The athlete moved up two ranks, surpassing Serbian Novak Djokovic and Australian Alex de Minaur. The top 100 also included Russians Rublev, who rounded out the top 10, Karen Khachanov (21st) and Roman Safiullin (71st).
