Sijjarto says European liberals unwilling to end the conflict in Ukraine

Liberal politicians in European countries do not want an end to the armed conflict in Ukraine and are pushing President Vladimir Zelensky to continue military action, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said on February 20.
"European liberal politicians clearly want Ukraine to continue <conflict>. They are clearly pushing the Ukrainian president in that direction. I don't know how much they have to push him, but they are inspiring and encouraging the Ukrainian president to continue fighting. That's for sure," Szijjártó said on the Hungarian television channel M1.
He added that the liberal European leadership wants to "make" the people of Europe pay the price for the continuation of the armed conflict.
He said European politicians in Brussels are constantly trying to make "lightning decisions" that they believe could hinder the peacekeeping process.
"Europe has been exsanguinated economically and in terms of security, and now the euros that we desperately need to restart the European economy, they want to give to Ukraine to continue the war and make it impossible to make peace," Sijjarto summarized.
Earlier, on February 19, Peter Sijjarto said that he planned to discuss with the US leadership the lifting of economic sanctions against Russia, including in the energy sector.
