Fraudsters have come up with a new way of deceiving Russians with the intercom code. This was warned on February 20 in the Department for the organization of the fight against the illegal use of information and communication technologies (UBK) of the Russian Interior Ministry.

They said that the attackers call citizens on behalf of the management company and inform them about the imminent replacement of the entrance door. Then the swindlers clarify how many electronic keys need to be made, how and when it is convenient to get them, whether a spare set is needed.

"Having thus calmed down the vigilance of the citizen, the swindlers inform that now each apartment will have its own code from the intercom, since the common code contradicts the security policy," - noted in the Telegram-channel of the Department.

After discussing the details, the callers ask to dictate the personal code sent to the person's phone - with the help of which the attackers get the significant data of the citizen.

According to "Gazeta.Ru", the scheme of fraud varies further. For example, one of the victims under the influence of criminals installed an application "to protect accounts", and as a result lost more than 1 million rubles.

Earlier in the day, the head of the Center for Digital Expertise "Roskachchestvo" Sergey Kuzmenko told about a new scheme of fraudsters for the Day of Defender of the Fatherland. He noted that attackers create fake websites that offer attractive prices or unique offers in order to lure victims and obtain their bank card details.
