The company "Sayberia Nova" has started the development of a supplement to the game "Distemper" - "Zemsky Sobor". The story centers on the story of Kirsha, a Cossack, who by chance became involved in the drama surrounding the Zemsky Sobor and played an important role in the accession of Mikhail Romanov to the throne of the Russian state. The release of the video game with the support of the Internet Development Institute (ANO "IRI") is scheduled for 2025, the developer told "Izvestia".

The main protagonist of "Zemsky Sobor" - Cossack Kirsha. He is a friend and associate of the character "Troubles" Yuri Miloslavsky. The game tells about the significant historical events of the end of the Time of Troubles and the role that the Cossacks played in these events. The narrative begins at the end of the main plot of the game "Troubles" and touches upon the period of the Zemsky Council of 1613. Kirsha will be unwittingly drawn into the political confrontation between the factions that want to put their candidate on the Russian throne. In addition, there is a love story in the plot.

The game is designed for five to seven hours of passing, based on the basic mechanics of "Troubles", but contains a number of qualitative changes. The emphasis is shifted from the narrative to the gameplay component in the spy action-detective genre.

"The Zemsky Cathedral, at which the Romanov dynasty came to power, took place on February 21, 1613. It is these events formed the basis of the plot of the supplement, which we have been working on since the summer of 2024. Real historical events are put into context so that the player felt like a creator of national history and enjoyed the gameplay. This is a fundamentally new product, with new mechanics of movement, animation of actions, attack and defense in battle, and the logic of some game reactions are determined by artificial intelligence," - said the creative director of the studio "Cyberia Nova" Sergei Russkikh.

Events will unfold in Moscow and other sub-locations, with the main action taking place in winter. The developers have recreated the historical appearance of part of the White City on the basis of the "Sigismund Plan" in 1610. The game contains a total of at least 30 quests, more than half of which are story-based.

Earlier, on January 29, Mikhail Khachaturyan, PhD in Economics, Associate Professor of the Department of Strategic and Innovative Development of the Finance University, told Izvestia that in 2028 the volume of the market of cybersports games in Russia can grow almost twice and reach $70-80 million. He also suggested that the number of cybersports competitions will grow, and one of the fastest growing markets along with cybersports will be the market of uninterruptible power supplies.
