On February 20, the Russian Investigative Committee (IC) showed footage of the interrogation of Ukrainian militant Oleksandr Husak, who shot three Russian servicemen in Kursk Region and was sentenced to life imprisonment for this. The video is at the disposal of Izvestiya.
It is noted that the evidence collected by the Main Military Investigation Directorate (GVSU) of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, the court recognized sufficient to sentence the machine gunner of the Armed forces of Ukraine (AFU). He was found guilty under paragraph "b" of part 3 of article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Terrorist act resulting in the death of a person").
In August 2024, on the orders of the Ukrainian command, Gusak shot three unarmed Russian servicemen with a NATO-style large-caliber machine gun, who died on the spot. He admitted his guilt in full.
The machine gunner was detained by fighters of the Armed Forces (AF) of the Russian Federation.
"There was a fight <...> Russian Federation soldiers rushed in. I myself surrendered [into captivity], without a fight <...> I admit my guilt in full," the convict said.
On the eve of the press service of the Main Military Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation reported that the court sentenced Gusak to life imprisonment with serving the first seven years in prison. According to the investigation, the Ukrainian machine gunner illegally entered the territory of the Kursk region, where he participated in armed attacks on populated areas and intimidated civilians, as well as shot three Russian servicemen.
