Roskachestvo warned of a new fraudulent scheme in the run-up to February 23rd

Sergey Kuzmenko, head of the Center for Digital Expertise of Roskachevo, told on Thursday, February 20, about a new scheme of scammers for Fatherland Defender's Day. The expert warned that in the run-up to February 23, one should be careful when buying tickets to events in order not to fall victim to con artists.
"Attackers create fake websites that mimic well-known services for selling tickets to concerts and other festive events dedicated to Defender of the Fatherland Day. They offer attractive prices or unique offers to lure the victim and get his bank card details," Kuzmenko warned in a conversation with Lenta.Ru.
The expert specified that one should be careful: carefully check the address of the site in the browser, look for the SSL-certificate icon (lock) and read reviews of the seller on the Internet. In addition, one should not follow links from suspicious emails and messages in messengers, according to the kp.ru website.
Kuzmenko added that often the sale of non-existent tickets is realized on online flea markets. In addition, attackers use stolen or fake photos of tickets to convince the victim of the authenticity of the offer.
For example, fraudsters in one of their schemes changed an already existing promotion from Wildberries and a mobile operator by specifying a fake domain gift-wildberries.ru. They offered to authorize in the WB account and provide access to the personal account, reports 360.ru.
Earlier, on February 19, the head of the Ministry of Digitization Maksut Shadaev said that a new service will appear on "Gosuslugi" in April, with the help of which it will be possible to check the issued SIM cards and find out whether they are not used by fraudsters, reports IA Regnum.
He suggested that some Russians may have contracts, which they do not know about, but which are actively used by fraudsters, reports aif.ru. And the new service will make it possible to identify and suppress the actions of malefactors.
