The volume of credit fraud in Russian banks exceeded 12 billion rubles

In 2024, the volume of credit fraud in Russian banks reached 12.8 billion rubles. This was announced by Alexander Danilov, Director of the Department of Banking Regulation and Analytics of the Bank of Russia, at the forum "Cyber Security in Finance" on February 20.

According to him, the fraudsters make out loans for bank customers without their consent.

According to the Central Bank, the total volume of transactions made without the knowledge of citizens amounted to 26.9 billion rubles.
