In the second quarter of 2025, the "Gosuslugi" will launch a system to notify motorists about the imminent expiration of the CMTPL insurance policy. This was reported on February 20 by "Avto.ru Magazine" with reference to representatives of the "National Insurance Information System" (NISIS).

The notice will contain information available in the expiring policy and a request to extend the validity of MTPL. It is expected that car owners will be notified three times - one month in advance, three days in advance and on the day of expiration of the policy.

NSIS representatives said that they are also going to send out notifications when signing MTPL contracts, which will contain data from the current policy. Thus, motorists will be able to double-check information from databases and correct possible inaccuracies.

On the eve of the edition with reference to the head of the Russian Union of Motor Insurers (RIA) Evgeny Ufimtsev reported that to check the presence of CMTPL policies of motorists with the help of road cameras in test mode will begin on March 1, and five regions of the Russian Federation declared their readiness to move from notices to the introduction of real responsibility before the end of the test period - these are Moscow, Sverdlovsk and Volgograd regions, as well as Kazan and Kaliningrad region.

On December 25 last year it was reported that the experiment on checking CMTPL insurance policies with cameras was initially planned to be conducted within a year. However, if the system starts working, there will be no complaints and it will be clear that everything works correctly, then fines may start to be issued by the cameras before the end of 2025, Ufimtsev said.
