The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have lost about 700,000 servicemen, as evidenced by US satellite data. Such a statement was made by the American leader Donald Trump during a speech in Florida on February 20.

"Ukraine has lost probably 700 thousand, <...> we see very accurately through satellites," he said during a broadcast published on YouTube.

The politician also compared satellite images from the battlefield to a "modern version of Gettysburg," the bloodiest battle of the US Civil War, which took place in 1863.

On Feb. 18, Trump said the conflict in Ukraine could have been resolved without territorial losses "even by mediocre negotiators" years ago. He also said he was really disappointed with the political developments during the U.S. administration of former President Joe Biden.

TheRussian and United States delegations met at one of the royal family's palaces in Riyadh on the same day. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov called the talks very useful. According to him, the sides "did not just listen, but also heard each other."
