It is too early to talk about the return of the international payment systems Visa and MasterCard and the back inclusion of some banks in the SWIFT system, Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly Nikolai Zhuravlev told Izvestia on February 20 at the Urals forum "Cybersecurity in Finance".

"We have an independent structure of the Mir national payment card system, which work perfectly well. In terms of customer convenience, there are no problems," Zhuravlev said.

Also, the deputy chairman of the Council of the Council of the Russian Federation added that he had not heard any discussions about the return of Visa and MasterCard to Russia.

Earlier in the day, the head of the Bank of Russia Elvira Nabiullina said that talks about the return of international payment systems Visa and Mastercard in Russia are premature.
