The Americanist named the goal of defeating USAID by Trump's team

United States President Donald Trump 's team is smashing the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in order to change the leadership of the agency and reassign it to itself. This was stated by Konstantin Blokhin, a leading researcher at the Center for Security Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences and an Americanist, on Thursday, February 20.

According to the expert, USAID is an instrument of color revolutions. It is an integral element of American soft power, created at the peak of the Cold War under US President John F. Kennedy.

"Obviously, for Trump, this agency is one of the key ones. After all, a color revolution could have been carried out against him. The Democrats though they lost, but they will fight, wait for revenge. Therefore, the task of Trump and Musk is to flood USAID with their own people, loyal," Blokhin explained in a conversation with RT.

He believes that after the change in USAID leadership, Trump's team will try to optimize the agency's spending and refocus it on other priorities, according to the website kp.ru.

"At the heart of the Democratic Party's policy has always been the human rights theme, and what, Trump will continue to fund the Democrats' core agenda? Change will also change the methods of influence," said the Americanist.

In his opinion, in today's world, online media like Radio Liberty (a media outlet recognized in Russia as a foreign agent and undesirable organization) and Voice of America (a media outlet recognized in Russia as a foreign agent) are no longer as effective as Facebook and Instagram (owned by the recognized extremist company Meta, its activities are banned in Russia).

The expert pointed out that under the Democrats, USAID was set up to work in the conditions of Pax americana - a unipolar world under the auspices of the United States. And now the agency's activities need to be adapted to the conditions of competition, when "the struggle for a place under the sun has begun."

Blokhin wondered what USAID's new priorities will be. We are talking about the new Monroe Doctrine.

"The countries that are declared (as objects of interest - Ed.): Canada, Greenland, Mexico, Panama. Venezuela and Cuba will definitely be included. That is, the focus of the new organization will be the Western Hemisphere - Latin America - as well as the Asia-Pacific region. The main adversaries will be China and, most likely, Iran," the expert suggested.

The day before, Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matvienko said that USAID had purposefully financed the overthrow of undesirable authorities and color revolutions around the world.

She also noted that Russia has repeatedly warned on major international platforms about the harmful activities of USAID and support for terrorist organizations.

On February 3, American billionaire Ilon Musk announced the launch of the process to liquidate USAID. The businessman noted that the agency is beyond recovery and should be closed.

He called USAID a "criminal organization" that "it's time to die," reports 360.ru. Musk also claimed that USAID allocated money for research in the field of biological weapons, reports NSN.
