Insurers have named the cars most often affected by vandals

In 2024, vandals began to damage cars of Russians more often, the most frequent victims are owners of cars of Chinese brands Haval. This is stated in the report of "VSK Insurance House", which was received by "Izvestia" on February 20.

According to the company, the number of such incidents under hull insurance in 2024 increased by 19.4%. Most often vandals damaged cars of Chinese brands - Haval (14%), Chery (9.2%) and Geely (8.8%). Also, owners of Kia (7.6%), VAZ (7.4%) and Hyundai (6.8%) were most often contacted by third parties because of damage to cars. The most "demanded" models by criminals were Chery Tiggo (8.5%), Lada Granta (3%) and Hyundai Creta (2.4%).

Vandalism peaks in spring (March and April), while Russians were victimized least often in September and February. Most often cars were damaged due to unlawful acts in Moscow, Moscow Region, St. Petersburg, Krasnodar Territory and Samara Region, the company said.

On the eve of the President of the Russian Union of Motor Insurers (RUIA) Evgeny Ufimtsev said that the average payment for CMTPL insurance in 2024 increased by 13% and amounted to Br99.96 thousand compared to Br88.79 thousand in 2023. The average premium for CMTPL insurance in 2024 amounted to Br7,616, down 2.6% compared to 2023 (Br7,817).
