Owners of private houses will pay less for heating in the Murmansk region

In the Murmansk Region, residents of private houses will pay less for electricity in winter. The regional authorities have increased the energy consumption limits for individual houses.
This is stated in the resolution of the regional committee for tariff regulation. According to the document, from January to April 2025, a coefficient of 1.8 will be applied to the ranges of energy consumption volumes.
The press service of Atomenergosbyt explained to Beeport IA that the decision to increase the coefficient will be applied not to the tariff itself, but to the consumption volumes. Thus, their limit values will increase.
The Murmansk region will use the right to introduce an increasing coefficient due to the low level of gasification. The maximum value of the first range will increase from 3900 to 7020 kWh/month, the second - from 6000 to 10800 kWh/month. Because of this, residents of private houses with electric heating systems will be able to consume more electricity, but pay less.
According to Elena Stukova, head of the Tariff Settlement Committee, from April the peak electricity consumption starts to decrease, and from May to October does not exceed the volume of the first range.
In order to get a recalculation, a citizen must provide the electricity supplier with documents of registration of the house as a residential premises and confirm the fact of electric heating installations. In case of transfer of information until February 24, the recalculation for January will be in the next receipt. In other cases, adjustments will be made in March.
In early February, the State Duma proposed to reduce electricity tariffs in the northern regions of Russia. The head of the LDPR faction Leonid Slutsky appealed to Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin with an initiative to reduce electricity tariffs and introduce separate consumption norms taking into account climatic peculiarities for northern and arctic regions.
