Over the year Stoloto and F6 blocked more than 10 thousand fraudulent resources

In 2024, Stoloto and the developer of technologies to combat cybercrime F6 (formerly F.A.C.C.T.) blocked more than 10.5 thousand fraudulent resources. This was reported in the press service of the largest distributor of all-Russian state lotteries.

At the same time, 9.5 thousand of them are fraudulent and phishing sites, more than 600 - fake posts, accounts and groups in social networks, another 51 - channels and accounts in messengers. In addition, experts found more than 350 fake mobile applications. All of them were operating under the guise of popular state lotteries, including illegally using the brand "Stoloto".

"Thanks to coordinated work with F6 specialists, we managed to achieve impressive results and block tens of thousands of fraudulent resources. However, it is important to remember that cybercriminals improve their methods and create new ways of fraud, so we, among other things, are constantly working to inform lottery participants," said Ekaterina Tuton, Deputy CEO of S8 Capital, a diversified holding company, which includes Stoloto.

Stanislav Goncharov, Head of Digital Risk Protection Department at F6, said that in 2024 there will be an increase in the number of phishing and scam resources due to the development of cybercrime communities and fraudulent programs. However, cybersecurity tools are also improving. At the same time, "users should remain vigilant and not open suspicious links," Goncharov said.

Since 2014, all lotteries in Russia have been state lotteries, organized by the Russian Ministry of Finance and the Russian Ministry of Sports, and conducted under state supervision of the Federal Tax Service. State lotteries distributed by Stoloto are a significant source of replenishment of the federal budget of the Russian Federation due to targeted deductions. Target deductions from lottery activities are used to finance socially significant objects and activities, including activities for the development of physical culture and sports, high-performance sports and the system of sports reserve training, thus making a significant contribution to improving the quality of life of Russians.
