- Khusnullin stated the need to build more than 100 million square meters of housing annually in the Russian Federation

For sustainable development of the country in the next 10-20 years it is necessary to put into operation annually at least 100 million square meters of housing. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Marat Khusnullin during a meeting in the House of the Government of the Russian Federation on February 20.
"We need to make a groundwork in master plans for stable development for the next 10-20 years. This means that we need to build at least 100 million square meters per year. This is the bar that we reached two years ago," the Deputy Prime Minister noted.
Khusnullin also pointed out that the construction sector continues to develop steadily, and its share in the Russian economy is growing.
"Today, more than 11 million people are involved in the construction and related industries. It is thanks to these people that its contribution to GDP is constantly growing. At the end of 2023, it reached 22 trillion, or 14%. At the end of 2024, it will definitely not be less. We are waiting, now recalculating, it will be higher. The volume of tax revenues is about Br7 trillion, or almost 13% of all taxes in our country," he said.
In October last year, Khusnullin at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin reported on the implementation of national projects in the field of housing construction and development of road and urban infrastructure. Deputy Prime Minister reported on the completion of the national project "Infrastructure for Life", which includes the projects "Housing and Urban Environment" and "Safe and Quality Roads".
Speaking about the modernization program, Khusnullin added that the wear and tear of communal infrastructure in Russia can be stopped in the next 5-6 years.
