The IC denied that an investigation into Lermontov's death had begun

The Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia has denied the information about the beginning of an investigation into the death of Russian writer Mikhail Lermontov in the XIX century. This was reported to "Izvestia" in the Investigative Committee on February 20.
On the alleged beginning of the investigation earlier RIA Novosti reported the State Duma deputy Nikolai Burlyaev. According to him, for many years, experts have pointed out the bad faith of the investigation, which was conducted after the death of the writer.
Lermontov died in a duel in 1841.
Earlier, on February 14, the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation reported that the error in the name of the cultural heritage site, where the duel between Russian poet Alexander Pushkin and Georges Dantes took place, will be corrected in the near future. It was specified that the changes will be made in the decree of the Government of the Russian Federation, as well as in the order of the Ministry of Culture of Russia
