FSB showed footage of work to prevent a terrorist attack in the Saratov region

On 20 February, the Russian Federal Security Service released a video of a Ukrainian special services agent who was liquidated in Saratov Region while trying to organize a terrorist attack against a local official.

The published footage, provided by the FSB Public Relations Center, shows the liquidated saboteur as well as a search allegedly conducted in his house. Components of an improvised explosive device were found in the room, indicating the preparation of the crime.

On February 20, it was reported that in the Saratov region FSB officers prevented an attempt to blow up the car of a regional official by an agent of the Ukrainian security services. A 49-year-old citizen of the Russian Federation was recruited in 2024 on the territory of Ukraine. He underwent special training in Kiev and was sent to Russia to commit terrorist acts. The saboteur conducted surveillance of the travel routes of the regional government representative and also collected data on the military airfield in Engels.
