Russian Rhythmic Gymnastics Championship starts in Moscow

The Russian Rhythmic Gymnastics Championship is taking place in Moscow. The competition is the first major start in this sport under the new rules.

Each participant has undergone a serious selection process. Maria Borisova, a gymnast of the Heavenly Grace Academy, became the champion of Russia in all-around, where she showed the best result.

"The roughnesses that exactly in the performance were there. And everything about the work-up, we have done a lot of work and we will work on stability here. Even more," - said the champion.

24 athletes took part in the all-around finals. Karina Kireeva took the second place with a small gap. The third place went to Ulyana Janus, who scored fewer points, but showed a decent result. The level of competition is quite high, as well as intensive training does not stop until the very exit on the carpet.

Anna Vakulenko, a pupil of Heavenly Grace, was helped by Olympic champion Alina Kabaeva to emphasize her expressiveness before the performance. Anna Vakulenko took bronze in the team competition as a member of the Southern Federal District team. The first place went to athletes from Moscow.

"In general, we have a very big competition in the national team in our sport, and it is very appreciated, because young girls can compete with older girls, and it's great," - said the champion in the team as part of Moscow Alexandra Skubova.

It is noted that the Russian Rhythmic Gymnastics Championship is the first major competition held under the new rules in this sport.

President of the International Association of Clubs "Heavenly Grace", Olympic champion Alina Kabaeva assessed the new rules.

"The rules are still, I think, somewhere they are interesting, very cool added artistry and plays a big role in the evaluation, performance, but a little bit lacking body. But I think that we are just starting and we will offer our suggestions, because in the Association we are already developing in this direction, so that there was a tandem: and the body, and the subject, and artistry, and performance," - said Kabaeva.

Gymnasts from all over the country passed a strict selection. More than 700 athletes from 68 regions visited the championship carpet.

Also three more days in the capital will compete for the best results in rhythmic gymnastics. Ahead of the finals in individual events: "without apparatus", "jump rope", "hoop", "ball", "clubs", "ribbon" and competitions in group exercises.
