AvtoVAZ responds to cab drivers' complaints about overpricing

Prices for Lada cars for 2024 were indexed by 4.3%, which is more than twice lower than the official inflation figures. Lada remains the most affordable car brand on the market. This was reported to "Izvestia" in the press service of AvtoVAZ when asked to comment on the complaint of the association "National Council of Taxis" (NCT) about the price increase.

"We have not seen the text of the mentioned complaint. AvtoVAZ is not the only or dominant supplier of cars for cabs. As you know, taxi companies now choose from a huge number of automakers - domestic and imported. Cab drivers are special clients for us, and we are proud of our interaction with them. Therefore, of course, it is gratifying for us when taxi companies vote with their rubles and choose our products," AvtoVAZ said in a statement.

Earlier in the day "Vedomosti" reported that the association "National Taxi Council" (NTC) suspected AvtoVAZ of overpricing Lada Granta and Lada Vesta for taxi transportation and asked the FAS to assess the legality of such actions.

The FAS press service said that the appeal was received and is now being considered. According to the newspaper, this is how the industry lobby is trying to oppose the adoption of the law on localization of cars for passenger transportation.
