Three-time world champion in rhythmic gymnastics from Bulgaria Radina Tomova was disqualified for three years for violation of anti-doping rules. About it on February 20 shows data from the register in the press service of the anti-doping center of Bulgaria.

The 19-year-old athlete in the doping sample was found a prohibited substance diuretic hydrochlorthiazide. It is noted that the suspension will last from October 2, 2024 to October 1, 2027.

Tomova has won the world championships three times, and won gold in 2022 in Sofia in the group all-around and in exercises with three ribbons and two balls.

On February 14, the winner of the Summer Paralympic Games in Tokyo in powerlifting Ukrainian Maryana Shevchuk was disqualified for four years for violating anti-doping rules. The 28-year-old athlete is disqualified from July 30, 2024 to July 29, 2028. Also the results of the athlete from the date of the positive sample are canceled.
