Starmer endorsed Zelensky after criticizing Trump

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer supported Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky 's reluctance to hold elections in the country, and also expressed support after criticism from US President Donald Trump. This was reported on February 19 in the press service of the Prime Minister's website.
"The Prime Minister expressed support for President Zelensky as a democratically elected leader of Ukraine and said that it is perfectly reasonable not to hold elections during <conflict>, as the United Kingdom did during the Second World War," - noted in the message.
In addition, Starmer expressed hope to maintain U.S.-led efforts to establish a "lasting peace" in Ukraine and further cooperation.
On the eve of Trump said that Ukraine was destroyed in the presidency of Zelensky. According to Trump, the head of the Kiev regime should not have started a conflict with Russia at all, which is impossible to win. Now Kiev needs the help of the United States and personally the American President to resolve the situation.
