Trump has claimed he has prevented World War III

US President Donald Trump has announced the imminent settlement of the conflict in Ukraine, which, according to him, under the administration of the country's previous President Joe Biden could have led to World War III. He said this on February 19 during the FII Priority forum, broadcast by the White House.

"We're going to end this. Nobody is going to [benefit] from World War III, and we're not that far away from it, I'll tell you that. If we had that administration (Joe Biden. - Ed.) another year, there would have been World War III. Now it's not going to happen," Trump said.

The American leader also emphasized that during his presidential term he will strive for peace.

In an hour and a half, they also discussed prisoner exchanges, the situation in the Middle East and the Iran nuclear deal

During the same forum, Trump promised peace in Ukraine as his legacy, and also expressed hope for a speedy end to the Ukrainian conflict. At the same time, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on February 18 that Kiev would not accept any results of the negotiations between Russia and the USA to settle the current crisis.
