Ambassador Kelin says Russia rejects idea of UK peacekeeping troops in Ukraine

Moscow will not accept the troops of the UK or other European countries in Ukraine even if US President Donald Trump approves it. Russian Ambassador to the UK Andrey Kelin told BBC News about this on February 19.
He also questioned whether there could be a potential peace agreement without new elections in Ukraine.
"Russia's ambassador to the UK said [Ukrainian President Volodymyr] Zelensky should hold elections and once again rejected the idea of allowing foreign peacekeeping troops into Ukraine in the event of any peace agreement," the article said.
On 18 February, State Duma deputy Aleksey Chepa said that the appearance of peacekeepers in Ukraine could be discussed, but the contingent should consist only of representatives of countries that took a neutral position in the conflict. He admitted that this could be Hungary or India.
