Motorized riflemen showed trophy weapons of the AFU in the border area of Kursk region


The Russian Defense Ministry has published footage of the results of the combat work of servicemen of a motorized rifle regiment as part of the North group of troops in the border area of Kursk Region and captured weapons of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).
In the published footage, the fighters show the captured weapons, including an M240 machine gun.
"During the fighting, hand grenades, machine guns and other Western-made weapons were captured. In particular, hand grenades, including American M67 and German DM-51A2. Russian motorized riflemen also seized two American M240 machine guns, a Swedish AT-4 grenade launcher and a Ukrainian analog of the American Mk-19 automatic machine grenade launcher with ammunition," the military department said.
The servicemen successfully fulfill combat tasks on a daily basis. They take part in both the assault and consolidation of the liberated territories.
"This machine gun is Belgian, M240, but it is used now by the US. <...> I think that the militants did not have time to use it, our guys used it," said the battalion commander with the call sign Strannik.
A day earlier, Russian artillerymen hit the AFU fortifications in Malaya Lokna in the border region of Kursk. After the command was received, the fighters opened fire on the Ukrainian formations' manpower in the neighboring forest belt at a distance of 10-12 km. Also on February 18, it became known that the AFU lost more than 220 soldiers in the Kursk direction over the day.
