The allies plan to offer the USA to deploy less than 30,000 European military personnel on the territory of Ukraine. The strategy was approved at an informal meeting in Paris. This is stated by The Daily Telegraph on February 19 with reference to European officials.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer is to present the plan to US President Donald Trump in the coming week. According to the plan, developed by Britain and France, the military should be deployed in Ukraine's largest cities, such as Poltava, Dnipropetrovsk (the Ukrainian name is Dnipro) and Krivoy Rog.

The newspaper's interlocutor also noted that the mission would rely on "technical monitoring," including surveillance and reconnaissance aircraft, drones and satellites, to provide "a full picture of what is happening."

Experts say the Western officials' plan is a far cry from the 200,000-strong peacekeeping mission demanded by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Meanwhile, Germany, Spain and Italy oppose the deployment of the European military on the territory of Ukraine.

On the same day, the US president's national security adviser, Michael Waltz, said in an interview with the Fox News TV channel that the USA expects French President Emmanuel Macron and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer to visit Ukraine next week to discuss the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine.
