Demand for performances in Moscow theaters fell by 25%

In February 2025, the demand for March performances in Moscow theaters decreased by 25% in number and by 20% in money terms compared to the same period of 2024, Elena Glukhovskaya, General Director of Kassir.ru Group of Companies, told Izvestia.
"Izvestia" interviewed industry experts about the impact of the new rules on ticket sales to theaters subordinate to the Department of Culture of the capital. For the performances standing in the playbill from March 15, it will be possible to buy a ticket only with identity documents.
"The new rules certainly complicate the purchase, and also cause apprehension and misunderstanding among those who planned to give tickets, for example, before March 8. Of course, any innovation requires time to get used to and a clearer understanding of how to adapt to the new rules," Glukhovskaya said.
