The French National Assembly did not pass the sixth vote of no confidence in the government of Francois Bayrou from the Socialist Party. This was reported on February 19 by the publication Le Figaro.

For the resolution voted only 181 deputies, which is very far from the absolute majority of 289 votes, which is necessary to overthrow the government of Bayrou.

In addition, the initiators of the vote of no confidence left the National Assembly (the lower house of the French parliament. - Ed.) when the French prime minister criticized them.

"This is the first time I see a party that introduces a vote of no confidence leave the assembly during the discussion of this vote of no confidence," Bayrou reacted.

Representatives of the Socialist Party decided to send the government to resign because the prime minister "picked up the pernicious words of the migration plunge instead of condemning the only nationalist plunge."

Earlier on Feb. 5, the French National Assembly failed to pass a vote of no confidence in the government from the left-wing Unconquered France party. The party had introduced two resolutions after French Prime Minister Francois Bayrou passed the 2025 budget bypassing parliament.
