Two rescuers killed in avalanche in Karachay-Cherkessia

Two rescuers died as a result of a snow avalanche in the village of Arkhyz in Karachay-Cherkessia (KCR). This is reported in the Telegram-channel of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia in the republic on February 19.

It is specified that in the Sofia gorge of the settlement Arkhyz Zelenchuksky district of the KCR there was a snow avalanche on a group of people, as a result of which two of them died.

"Investigative bodies of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the KCR organized a procedural check on the fact of a snow avalanche", - informed the press service of the agency.

Earlier in the day it was reported about the avalanche in the area of the beam Orlenok near Arkhyz. According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, three people were trapped under the snow, one of them managed to escape.
