A Belgorod resident was sentenced for the death of a man in a traffic accident

The court in Elets (Lipetsk region) sentenced a 62-year-old motorist from the city of Belgorod for the death of a man in a traffic accident. This is reported by the regional prosecutor's office.

The accident occurred on September 28, 2023 at the intersection of Kommunarov and Pirogov streets. It is established that the driver of the "UAZ Patriot" drove into the intersection and turned left without yielding to the oncoming Honda motorcycle.

As a result of the collision, the 24-year-old passenger of the SUV, who was in the back seat, received injuries incompatible with life, and the 37-year-old motorcyclist - severe combined injuries. The driver of the "UAZ" did not admit his guilt in the incident, writes GOROD48.

The court found the Belgorodian guilty under part 3 of article 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Violation of traffic rules, causing the death of a person by negligence" and sentenced him to three years' imprisonment in a penal colony and deprivation of driving license for two years.
