Second criminal case opened after cab hits disabled man in Moscow region


A second criminal case has been opened in Moscow Region after a cab car hit a man in a wheelchair. The regional Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia reports about it in its Telegram-channel.
The incident occurred the day before, February 18, on Markova Street in Dmitrov. The 31-year-old driver of a Renault cab car hit a 33-year-old man who was crossing the roadway in a wheelchair at an unregulated crosswalk.
The victim was taken to hospital with injuries and released after medical treatment. However, according to the online edition of "Podmoskovye Segodnya", then the man asked for help again and was hospitalized.
The police opened a criminal case under part 1 of article 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Violation of the rules of road traffic and operation of vehicles". The Investigative Committee decided to initiate criminal proceedings under Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Provision of services that do not meet the requirements of safety of life and health of citizens". All the circumstances of the incident are being established.
The traffic accident was caught on video. The footage shows how the driver, without slowing down, hit a man at the crossing marked by road signs.
