The Mosvolonter Resource Center turns 11 years old. Residents and guests of the city are waiting for events in honor of this event. Deputy Mayor of Moscow Natalia Sergunina congratulated the capital's volunteers and spoke about the prepared program.
"I congratulate the volunteer community of the capital! For 11 years "Mosvolonter" has been developing the culture of good deeds, uniting hundreds of thousands of like-minded people. They support charitable initiatives, help in organizing patriotic actions and major city events. In the coming days we are waiting for a series of events dedicated to different areas of volunteerism", - said Natalia Sergunina.
All events in honor of the 11th anniversary of the center "Mosvolonter" will be held from February 21 to 23, said Sergunina. Muscovites are waiting for patriotic meetings, creative master classes and informative interactives.
Thus, in the centers "Good Place" throughout the city will hold introductory lectures about volunteering and thematic classes. Visitors will make their own feeders, which will be placed in parks and squares, make commemorative bracelets, and paint toys. Adults and children will also be offered to take part in quizzes and a quest dedicated to the world of volunteerism.
On February 22 in the main office of "Mosvolonter" will present letters of appreciation to representatives of universities and activists of the project "Moscow helps", who are engaged in collecting humanitarian aid for participants of the special military operation, residents of new and border regions of Russia.
"Mosvolonter" started working on February 21, 2014. Today it develops more than 10 areas of volunteerism. Active residents help at major events, volunteers are also welcome in museums, libraries and theaters, charitable foundations and non-profit organizations. Since its opening, the resource center has formed more than two thousand volunteer corps for different events, including about 500 in 2024 alone. In total, the volunteer movement of Moscow unites about 1.4 million residents. Almost 80 percent of them are young people.
