Apple unveiled a budget version of the iPhone 16

The American corporation Apple presented its new budget smartphone iPhone 16E. The company published a video presentation of the device on February 19.

"The iPhone 16E joins the iPhone 16 family as its most affordable member," said the corporation's CEO Tim Cook in a video published on YouTube.

The new phone features the same processor as the base model iPhone 16, as well as a single 48MP camera. In addition, the budget smartphone inherited from the main phone of the lineup a special Action Button for linking various actions to it, a USB-C connector and the absence of the "Home" button.

The screen diagonal is also similar to the usual iPhone 16. At the same time, the company emphasized that the autonomy of the new device is at an unprecedented level compared to other smartphones of the company of the same dimensions - video on the iPhone 16E can be watched without recharging for 26 hours.

Pre-order of the budget model will open on February 21, global sales will begin a week later. The cost of the variant with a memory size of 128 GB will be $599 - $200 cheaper than the basic iPhone 16 in the company's store.

As told "Izvestia" in "M.Video-Eldorado", the price in Russia for the iPhone 16e 128 GB will be 77 999 rubles, for the iPhone 16e 256 GB - 89 999 rubles.

Earlier it was reported that sales of Apple's new budget smartphone will begin in Russia at the same time as the rest of the world. TelecomDaily CEO Denis Kuskov told Izvestia that the price of the device in the Russian market may be up to 70 thousand rubles.
