In a few days, the Red Army destroyed about 700 German tanks in battle.

On February 27, 1945, fireworks were fired in 14 Soviet cities in honor of the capture of cities and the successes of the Red Army offensive, reports newspaper "Izvestia".
Over the past five days, troops have destroyed about 700 German tanks in combat.
"The troops of the 2nd Belorussian Front, continuing their offensive, broke the enemy's resistance west of the town of Chojnice (Konitz) and advanced up to 70 km in four days of offensive fighting. During the offensive, the front's troops in Pomerania captured the cities of Schlochau, Stegers, Hammerstein, Baldenberg, Bublitz — important communication hubs and strong German defense strongholds, and also occupied more than 100 other settlements with battles," the newspaper reported on February 27, 1945.
In Breslau, Soviet troops occupied 12 quarters.
Exactly 71 days remained until the Great Victory.
Meanwhile, according to Izvestia's own correspondent, the republican art exhibition "Victory" is being organized in Minsk. Its exhibits will tell about the heroic struggle of the Belarusian people against the Nazi invaders, about the valor of the Red Army.
