Medvedev announced that the Russian Federation has allocated significant resources to build up the defense industry

The Russian authorities have allocated significant financial resources to continue building up the production capacities of the defense industrial complex (DIC). This was announced by Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council (SC) Dmitry Medvedev at a meeting in Tatarstan on February 19.

"Today we will continue to consider the implementation of investment projects to increase the production capacity of the defense industrial complex. As you know, the state has allocated very significant resources for this," he said. The video clip is published on Medvedev's page in the social network "VKontakte".

The meeting was held at the Kazan Gunpowder Plant. The deputy chairman of the Russian Security Council noted that the enterprise is developing very quickly.

"The enterprise is carrying out a large-scale technical re-equipment, modernization of production. New capacities have been introduced, which will allow and have already allowed to increase the production of ammunition for various types of weapons," he specified.

Earlier, on February 18, the Russian Defense Ministry reported on the creation of a new system of innovative research, development and implementation of the created samples of weapons, military and special equipment based on their results. The new project was named "Voentech" (Military Technological Initiative). Its work is based on the effective practices and organizational tools of the Tech Council of the "people's defense industry," the military innovation technopolis "ERA" and the RF Ministry of Defense Commission on Innovation Projects and Technologies.
