Trade turnover of agricultural products between Russia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in January this year compared to the first month of last year has doubled. This was reported on February 19 by Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev at the international exhibition Gulfood 2025 in Dubai.
He inspected the Russian exposition and noted that the partnership with the Gulf countries in the field of agro-industrial complex is of strategic nature.
"Our country supplies basic agricultural products that ensure food security of the Gulf countries. And we are interested in further strengthening cooperation. Last year the trade turnover in agricultural products and food between Russia and the United Arab Emirates increased by 30%. At the same time, Russian exports increased by 30%," Patrushev said.
Russia supplies the UAE with cereals and legumes, meat products, including halal products, which meet all standards. There is great potential in expanding the range of supplies of meat, dairy products and soft drinks.
"Participation of Russian producers in the International Exhibition "Gulfood" contributes to strengthening the position of our country as a reliable trading partner of the Middle East countries. I am confident that domestic producers will be able to conclude promising contracts here and expand markets for their products," Patrushev emphasized.
Russian agricultural products are already for the tenth time presented at the exhibition "Gulfood". This year, about 150 domestic producers of grain, oil and fat, meat, dairy products, fish and seafood, as well as other food products in demand abroad are exhibited.
