The Kiev regime's hysteria over its absence from the talks between the Russian Federation and the USA is inappropriate. Russian President Vladimir Putin said this during a visit to a drone manufacturing plant in St Petersburg on 19 February.

He explained that Moscow and Washington were discussing not only the conflict in Ukraine, but also issues of bilateral relations between Russia and the United States. Thus, the two powers are to resolve the issue of extending the START-III strategic offensive arms treaty, which expires in 2026.

"Do they (Ukraine. - Ed.) want to sit here at the negotiating table and be mediators between Russia and the United States? Probably not. Why the hysteria here? Hysteria is inappropriate," the head of state said in a conversation with journalists.

At the same time, Putin emphasized that Russia had never refused to negotiate with Ukraine. The Russian leader recalled that it was the Kiev regime that legally banned itself from negotiations with Russia.

The Russian president also added that he appreciated the results of the talks between the Russian and American delegations in Riyadh, characterizing the atmosphere of the meeting as benevolent.

Thetalks between thedelegations of Russia and the United States in Riyadh took place on Tuesday, February 18, in one of the palaces of the royal family. Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova described the talks as the beginning of work to solve global problems that were created by the administration of past US President Joe Biden.
