The choice of still life as the main genre is due to Nadezhda's love of arts and crafts. Canvas for her becomes a place for experimenting with forms, textures, intensity of color. And antique objects are a link between different epochs. They take the viewer into a space where the past meets the present and give the compositions an atmosphere in which time seems to stand still.
