The Russian Embassy in Sweden will strengthen security measures amid reports by Russia's Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) about possible terrorist attacks by Ukraine to disrupt peace talks on the conflict.

"The embassy is closely monitoring the situation, security measures around the diplomatic mission have been strengthened. We are in contact with local authorities," the diplomatic mission told RIA Novosti.

The SVR reported earlier in the day that Kiev may carry out a series of terrorist attacks against Russian diplomatic missions in the European Union (EU) to disrupt negotiations on conflict resolution. The agency specified that Ukraine is most likely to try to carry out such actions in Germany, the Baltic States and Scandinavia.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on February 18 that Kiev would not accept any results of the negotiations between Russia and the USA on the conflict settlement. According to him, this is impossible without the participation of representatives of Ukraine and the EU.

In his turn, the deputy chairman of the Russian Security Council, Dmitriy Medvedev, warned that the head of the Kiev regime would go for any provocations for the sake of disrupting the negotiations. The behavior of the cornered head of the Kiev regime cannot be predicted now, Medvedev added.
