A new car production facility will appear in the Ulyanovsk region

In the Ulyanovsk region a new investment project for the production and sale of trucks and special equipment has been approved for implementation. It will be implemented jointly with a Chinese company, which will supply machine kits. This was reported on February 19 by the press service of the governor and government of the region.

The project will be implemented by LLC "Automobile Plant Veles" in the Port Special Economic Zone "Ulyanovsk". According to Sergey Vasin, Deputy Prime Minister of the Ulyanovsk region, the volume of investments will amount to 43.3 million rubles, and the production of automobile cargo chassis should start within six months.

It is expected that the chassis will be used for 35 variants of vehicles - these are flatbed trucks, dump trucks with different unloading options, as well as special vehicles, including timber trucks, tankers, garbage trucks, fire trucks and mobile repair shops. At the next stage the company plans to master the full-fledged production of special vehicles.

It is noted that there is a demand for these products in Russia. Consumers are companies-operators of trucks - commercial, state and municipal enterprises.

Earlier in the day it was reported that the company "Rex Motors" plans to begin assembly of KGM vehicles at the plant "Avtotor" in the Kaliningrad region. The start of car production is scheduled for the fall of 2025. Already in March, Rex Motors will start selling three crossovers in Russia, their prices were announced.
