- Media learned about Europe's fear of US troop withdrawal due to Moscow-Washington ties

Europe fears the withdrawal of US troops from the territory of the continent amid negotiations between Russia and the United States. This was reported on February 19 by the German newspaper Bild with reference to a representative of the Eastern European security services.
"Western security services and politicians fear that the negotiations that have begun in Riyadh may lead to the termination of the presence of U.S. troops on a large part of European territory," the material said.
The unnamed source of the publication specified that, in particular, attention is paid to the demands of Russian President Vladimir Putin from 2021 on the withdrawal of U.S. military forces from all NATO member states that joined the alliance after 1990.
According to Bild, the discussions do not currently concern the U.S. base in Germany's Ramstein and the U.S. Air Force base in the United Kingdom.
The Postimees newspaper reported on February 18 that Estonian Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur denied that the U.S. might withdraw its troops from the Baltics during talks with Russia. According to him, there have been no signals from the U.S. side on this issue.
