Improper storage of cereals can lead to the loss of their nutritional properties and make them unsuitable for consumption due to the appearance of mold fungi, other microorganisms and insects. This was reported by senior lecturer of the Department of Biotechnology and Industrial Pharmacy RTU MIREA Maria Zolotareva on Wednesday, February 19.

The expert noted that it is important to choose the right materials and provide suitable storage conditions to prevent spoilage and loss of quality of croup. So, glass or ceramic containers will be the best choice, as they provide good protection from external influences.

"Plastic containers should be used with caution: poor quality plastic can release chemicals that affect the taste and odor of cereals. In addition, plastic is not suitable for storing fatty cereals, for example, millet and oat flakes," - warned the expert in conversation with Lenta.Ru.

She added that metal containers, if made of poor-quality material can quickly rust and do not provide the necessary tightness, as well as give cereals an unpleasant taste of metal. To avoid this, it is recommended to choose containers covered with enamel inside and outside.

Zolotareva recommended not to store cereals near the stove, sink or window, as there may be high humidity and/or high temperature, which promotes the growth of microorganisms and spoilage of cereals. Containers are best placed in dry and cool places away from sources of heat and moisture, she concluded.

The day before, endocrinologist Doctor of Medicine, candidate of medical sciences Natalia Tananakina said that people with diabetes are recommended to reduce in the diet products with a high content of easily digestible carbohydrates, such as sugar, honey, pastries, while complex carbohydrates - cereals, vegetables, fruits - should be left, RT reports.

February 12, psychologist, psychotherapist Alexander Vronsky noted that in spring it is important to adjust your diet and normalize sleep patterns.

According to the expert, it is necessary to increase the amount of serotonin and dopamine hormones. To do this, you should consume products rich in tryptophan: nuts, soy, dairy products, tomatoes, dark chocolate. And to synthesize tryptophan into serotonin, you need magnesium, which contains nuts, pumpkin seeds, tuna, dairy products, cereals, reports NSN.
